Bridal Floral Preservation FAQ
Pressing a bouquet is a careful and detailed process. Each bouquet is deconstructed petal by petal and placed into the press. It takes about 8+ weeks to fully remove the moisture from the petals, ensuring their perfect preservation. Once they’re ready, I meticulously reconstruct each flower, petal by petal, to capture their full beauty. I then design your layout based on your preferences and send you a sneak peek for approval or tweaks. Once you’re happy with the design, I finalize the piece with gluing, drying, and framing. From start to finish, the entire process takes about 5 months, resulting in a timeless, handcrafted memory you’ll cherish forever.
Booking & Drop-Off
How do I place an order for floral preservation?
To reserve your wedding date, book directly through our website. A $100 deposit secures your spot and goes toward your total balance.
When should my flowers be dropped off?
We recommend assigning a "bouquet keeper"—someone responsible for keeping your flowers in water and out of the sun. Drop-off is required the day after your wedding at one of our St. Louis or Southern Illinois locations. Once booked, we’ll send you detailed drop-off instructions.
My wedding was yesterday. Is it too late to book?
Possibly! Send us a photo of your bouquet in its current condition, and we’ll let you know if we can still preserve it. Most bouquets can be saved up to a few days after the event.
What types of flowers can be preserved?
We can press most flowers, including roses, lilies, daisies, peonies, orchids, and even some succulents! If you're unsure about a specific flower, feel free to ask.
How should I care for my bouquet before drop-off?
Keep your flowers hydrated in a vase of water and out of direct sunlight to ensure the best preservation results.
The Preservation Process
How long does the process take?
Pressing flowers takes approximately 8+ weeks to fully remove moisture. Once dry, we carefully reconstruct and design your piece. The full process—including drying, designing, gluing, and framing—typically takes about 5 months.
Will my flowers look the same as on my wedding day?
While no preservation method can keep flowers exactly as they were, we take great care to retain their shape, texture, and beauty. Some color changes are natural during pressing, but your flowers will still hold their original charm.
My flowers have wilted. Can you still press them?
Most likely! Since we deconstruct and press flowers petal by petal, we can often salvage the best petals to create your piece.
Customization & Payment
Can you add personalization to my preserved flowers?
Yes! We offer customizations, including adding a photo, wedding vows, or an invitation to your design.
When do I pay the remainder of my balance?
Once your flowers are fully pressed, we’ll send a final invoice. After payment, you’ll enter the design queue, and we’ll text you a sneak peek of your layout for approval.
What happens if I want to change my order or design?
Design choices are flexible during the design process. We always send a sneak peek before finalizing, allowing for tweaks and adjustments.
Receiving & Caring for Your Artwork
Can I pick up my art or will it be shipped?
Pickup is available in St. Louis or Southern Illinois on an arranged pickup day. This is the safest option for receiving your artwork. If shipping is needed, reach out to discuss options.
How do I care for my pressed floral art?
Your piece is protected with UV glass, but to maintain its beauty:
- Keep it out of direct sunlight to slow natural fading.
- Avoid placing it in high humidity areas like bathrooms or kitchens.
Will my flowers fade over time?
Yes, natural materials will gradually age. However, UV glass protection helps slow the fading process, allowing your piece to evolve beautifully over the years.
Other Questions
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Pressed floral preservation makes a meaningful wedding gift and can be added to a gift registry.
I have more questions. How can I reach you?
We’re happy to help! Send us a message through the inquiry page, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

MEMORIES IN BLOOM.

"Writing you a review is the easiest thing I have ever done! Amy at A Home in Bloom is so thoughtful with her floral preservation. Her work is simply one of a kind, artistic, and so beautiful! I have gone to her twice now to preserve florals; both times, her work took my breath away! I brought my friend's bouquet home from Spain (Filled with Lilly of the Valley) and the outcome was truly incredible. I cannot recommend her company enough! I will be using A Home in Bloom for every future floral event I go to! There is nothing better than preserving special moments and cherishing them forever."

She took my wedding bouquet and transformed it into the most stunning piece of pressed flower art—something I will cherish forever. From start to finish, the process was seamless, and she treated my flowers with such care and attention to detail. The final piece beautifully preserves the memories of our special day, and I’m in awe of how perfectly she captured the colors, textures, and essence of my bouquet. Not only is her work breathtaking, but her kindness and passion for what she does truly shines through. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to preserve your wedding flowers, I highly recommend A Home in Bloom. "Working with Amy was an absolute joy! I loved that she provided me with many options to help preserve my wedding bouquet for the rest of time. Having meaningful pieces of art in my home is so important to me, and Amy put together something that we will keep forever. Having the bouquet up in our home is a continual reminder of our special day and is a true symbol of us as a couple. I was drawn to Amy’s artwork, because she offers a variety of style options. I went with the ‘modern’ style on a black matte w/a distressed black frame. It is STUNNING to say the least! Not only is her artwork beautiful, but she is just so so so kind and genuine."

"My pressed flower art is not only such a thoughtful gift, but a beautiful memory of our special day. The time, care, and attention to detail Amy invested in my bouquet to make it such a stunning piece is something I will always be thankful for. I didn’t even realize something like this was out there. If you are getting married, you NEED your bouquet pressed by Amy after your big day!"
